تُستخدم إبرة التصوير الوعائي من طبیب فاسکولار في إجراءات رأب الأوعية الدموية  أو التصوير الوعائي، وذلك عبر المسار الذي تُنشئه في الوريد الكُعبُري في اليد أو الوريد الفخذي في الساق، ليكون مدخل الوصول إلى الشريان والممر الرئيسي لمرور جميع الأدوات داخل الجسم. 
تُنتج إبر طبیب فاسکولار للتصوير الوعائي بثلاثة مقاسات مختلفة (Gauges) لتناسب كلًّا من الوصول الكُعبُري والوصول الفخذي.
